The 16oz claw hammer is the workhorse of the DIY, joinery and carpentry trade. Fitted with a 16oz (450g) polished face head on a hardened hollow steel shaft with a rubber grip for comfort and stability. It is used for both driving in nails and the claw side of the head is used for withdrawing nails. An essential for the toolkit.
This hammer with its 8oz (225g) head mounted on a harwood shaft makes it ideal for the finer things in the carpenter's life. The cross pein side is used to start tapping in finer nails such as panel pins etc
Now this is a heavier hammer weiging in at 2.2lbs or (1.1kg) The forged,hardened and tempered head is fitted onto a hardwood shaft. Used in in conjunction with the bolster and cold chisel in concrete and masonry tasks. Has a shorter shaft than a claw hammer for increased control and avoid wrist strain.
Brick bolsters have a wide cutting edge 100mm and this bolster has a handguard fitted as standard. The benefit of the handguard is that it covers a large section of your hand protecting it should you mis strike the chisel.
This cold chisel is ued for cutting and tracking masonry walls etc and as it is hardened and tempered it can be used for cutting off steel nuts etc which have rusted. Like the brick bolster it is a versatile strong product and should be in every diyer's toolkit.
